MESSAGE:: “THE NATURE AND CHARACTERISTICS OF HOLY SPIRIT“
The more you understand the nature and the character of a person, the better your relationship will be. The entire Bible refers to the ministry of the Holy Spirit and to the triune nature of God we worship.
Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity. He is not the third because He is lesser but because He was the last Godhead to be revealed. The Trinity is made up of 3 distinct persons: God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. As a member of the Godhead, Holy Spirit had no beginning and has no ending just as the Father and Son. Holy Spirit dwells in Heaven as well as here on Earth in the heart of believers.
From the gospel of John, we hear Jesus’ promise, “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another helper who will be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you” (John 14:16–17). The Greek word for “Comforter – helper” in this passage is Parakletos, “one who is called alongside,”
There are many misconceptions about the identity of the Holy Spirit today. Some view Holy Spirit as a mystical force. Others understand Holy Spirit as the impersonal power that God makes available to the followers of Christ. The Bible tells us that Holy Spirit is a divine person, a being with a mind, emotions, and a will.
